  • Introduction

    This special issue respect to the Development of Underground Structures including interdisciplinary aspects of planning, construction as well as operation of underground space and facilities. The special issue covers a very wide scope of underground space and underground construction, including geo-investigation, geomechanics, numerical modeling of underground construction but not limited to construction of underground structures. All papers on the topic within the scope of the special issue are welcomed. Papers submitted should be original research or case studies on the aims and scopes below.
    Aims and Scope:
    1. Planning and development of underground structures
    2. Operation and maintenance of underground structures
    3. The stress or ground movement during underground structure construction
    4. Trenchless technology
    5. Geoenvironmental study during underground construction
    6. Advanced technology in underground structure monitoring

  • Guidelines for Submission

    Manuscripts can be submitted until the expiry of the deadline. Submissions must be previously unpublished and may not be under consideration elsewhere.

    Papers should be formatted according to the guidelines for authors (see: http://www.journalofcivileng.org/submission). By submitting your manuscripts to the special issue, you are acknowledging that you accept the rules established for publication of manuscripts, including agreement to pay the Article Processing Charges for the manuscripts. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the online manuscript submission system at http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/login. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the special issue website.
